Image size dialogue box in the tutorial:

Marty

What I see when I click on Image Size:

My Image Size 1.jpg

When I click on Constrain Proportions I see:

My Image Size 2.jpg

I checked all three boxes. I take it the Image size width I need to select is the Pixel Dimensions box?

CS6 is from 2012.

In the meantime, the user interface has been changed here and there. Nevertheless, many newer tutorials are still suitable for older versions of Photoshop.

Image size = width and height in pixels

Document size = print size in inch or cm, depending on the print resolution. This means how many of the image's pixels the printer will use for 1 inch.

If you don't want to print your image the document size is irrelevant.

This was helpful but I don't want to print the document. I am curious why my screen is different than that in the tutorial? I seem to get into trouble at this point. This is the second time in this tutorial that my screen is different than the one in the video tutorial. I am using version CS6 Extended.
