Image sizes aren't correct when printed

I have been trying to print out images I have scaled in Photoshop on my printer, but they aren't the correct size. Here is an example: I want to print an image out that is 3 inches tall, and two inches wide. I scaled the image in Photoshop, and Photoshop says that the measurements are correct. When I paste the image into Powerpoint, and when I try printing the image directly from my computer, it's far smaller than it should be. I have no idea how to fix this problem. I have scaled the images, and have made sure they are fit to 8.5 by 11 paper. The problem seems to be with Photoshop itself. Please help me if you can, Garrett.

I got an answer on Reddit. I started printing straight from Photoshop instead of using Powerpoint in between.

The key to this is that Photoshop doesn't work with the concept of "size" at all. It works with pixels.

Size is determined by the pixels per inch number (ppi). This number is basically a formula for translating from pixels to physical sizes.

In other words, ppi determines size.

A. Are you exporting an image from photoshop and placing that image on PowerPoint?

B. When you print from your computer, what program are you printing from?

C. Have you tried exporting an image, opening it in acrobat and printing from acrobat?

A. If you mean by "exporting" you mean "copy pasting" then yes.

B. I'm using the default Windows programs and functions to print

C. I haven't tried printing in Acrobat and I'm not sure if I have it.
