Question

Importing an image from Avery

I have created a name badge for an Avery product. It includes an image. I can't find the image on my computer and I'd like to use that image on a non-Avery product. Avery is very unfriendly to other products. If I copy the image it does not paste into PS. There is no way on the Avery site to identify where the image is on my computer. Is there a way around this?  Thanks.

I don't understand. You say you created the design and it includes an image. How did you include the image? Or is the image part of a template?

I have Avery Design Pro for creating labels. If I want an image on the label I have to get it from somewhere on my drive. Is your avery product different?

No...you are correct. The problem is that I created the name badges which use the image years ago and I have no idea where on my computer the image resides. I was able to locate and open the name badge file through the Avery site. Nancy O suggested a screen shot and that appears to be a solution.

You do not know know the badge name so you can search your machine. How do you see it than. If its only on their site I would suggest seeing if you can download your badge to your machine.

Thanks....Nancy O. That worked. Not sure if the quality will be good enough, but it looks good for now.

I use windows,  I do not have any Avery products.  From what you wrote it sounded like you have Avery software and can see an image  of you wotk on screen and Avery Copy will not paste into Photoshop.  That you can not save an image file from Avery's software.  If may also be you just do not know how to use Avery's softeware for now you state you have no idea of what size badge you created.

I know how to use the Avery software, but it isn't very friendly for any use other than their own. Avery says there is no way to export the art, copy the art or identify the location of the art, but this community is such a good resource I thought maybe someone had faced the same problem and knew of a creative way to accomplish my goal. Thanks for trying.

Can you grab a screen shot with Print Screen key and paste into a new PS document?

Crop and resize image as required...

If the image is small that is has fewer pixels. Try to see if you display can display all the image pixels on you display in your avery product.  Try coping then to the clipboard using a Windows or Mac feature.  ON windows use the PrtScrn or Alt+PrtScrn shortcuts. Then past into Photoshop,

I don't really understand the answer. It is a relatively small image. I have no idea what the pixel count is. I have no idea how to display all the pixels. I can copy it, but it doesn't paste into PS. I am running a Mac with Sierra OS.
