Importing pictures from Photos and OneDrive

Since the update I can't import pictures properly when I use my photo library or files. When I select multiple pictures to import it randomly imports very few pictures of the file. So it now takes a huge amount of time to import every single picture manually. I can't import the file in one go. Importing pictures has thus become almost impossible because I have to use onedrive because my storage (iPad 2017, 32 gb) is limited. Incredible how one update can destroy the entire app. Do you know any solution or do I need to search for another editing app?
