'In programme' Photoshop tutorial not working

Trying out a few tutorials inside photoshop. I can't seem to proceed beyond step 1. I follow the instructions and click next but nothing happens. I was in the 'remove stains from an photo' . Last week I tired another, can't recall which one, and again I couldn't proceed beyond step one despite following instructions.

Why is this, does anyone know please? Its not vital, but I was justseeing if the tutorials match the same method I normally use...

• If the issue continues, a screen recording would be very helpful. It allows us to see exactly what’s happening when you try to proceed with the tutorial.
