Is it possible to automate the removal of data set variables?

I had a stab at creating an action, but it wouldn't track. I've got a batch of files (and many more to come) that need to have all the data set variables removed so they can be Adobe Muse compatible. Is there a way of doing this without opening every file manually?

As you would like to delete data set variable on multiple files, have you tried creating an action to remove the variables?
