Is it possible to customize a right-click context menu?

Hello all,

I am wondering if right-click (in Windows) context menus can be customized like, say, Application Menus or Panel Menus.

Case in point: when working on a photo, I often need to create a copy of the Background layer, for example to apply Free Transform. In order to create that copy, I will right-click on the Background layer and a context menu pops up. Now, the item I want (Duplicate Layer...) is #3 on the list, I would like it to be #1 as it would be easier to access. Please see attached screen capture for better understanding.

I have so far not found any way to do this. Would anyone be able to help?

Many thanks in advance.

@Dominique_R2

The fastest way to duplicate a layer is Ctrl+J (or Cmd+J in macOS)

I believe we know this, but thank you anyway.

That is not what I asked, however.

I know it is/was possible to add items in Bridge, via scripting.

The latest Ps 25.2 release note states that there is a way to customize the layer panel contextual, (unless it is a bad transcription of customized) so there's hope, but I'm not sure how it would be possible Photoshop wide, as there are so many different contexuals...

En Windows sé que sí, a través del registro, pero es arriesgado por si cometes errores. Hay un programa gratis Easy contrast menu, que te permite hacerlo con bastante facilidad. En cuanto a Photoshop no lo sé.

Considering the time now elapsed since I posted my original question, and the lack of an adequate response, I think the reasonable takeaway conclusion is that nobody in the community actually knows whether it is possible to customize that context menu. Too bad!

You should assume that it is not possible.

If you are a mouse using sort of a person, the Contextual Task Bar has the option the Free Transform when a layer is selected.

I have a feeling that the CTB just might have options and be customizable in a future update.  They gave us a custom toolbar option after all, and that's one of my favourite UI features.
