Is there a way to opt out of Firefly?

Hi, I know it's a stupid question but as someone who has strong feelings towards Generative AI, I just was wondering if there's any way to completely opt out of it, to disable it within Photoshop and have it not be something suggested?

Correct answer D Fosse

Not a stupid question at all.  We are many.

Whenever you pick a Photoshop tool that has a Firefly component, optional or otherwise, you will be asked to accept the terms and conditions. Just do not accept.

The tools with optional AI, like the Remove tool, will have a rolldown in the options bar where you can disable the AI component. This choice sticks.

This works well for me and I'm not bothered with any suggestions.

From what I read in the description you can't disable it, But you can decide not to use it

I don't want to access Firefly or the Firefly-powered workflows in the apps. Can I turn it off?

If Firefly entitlement is included with your plan, you can't turn it off, but you can choose not to use the Firefly-powered workflows in your apps or not to sign in to the Firefly website.
