Question

Is there an up-to-date photoshop script for removing redundancy (metadata)?

My photoshop always feels slow, especially when there are a lot of layers, maybe it's the memory, maybe it's the video card.
It often lags until it blacks out.
But the configuration I feel is not that bad. I see other computers that are not as well configured as mine are not lagging that much.

Can't find a way to do anything but clean up the files.
Any scripts to clean up redundancy would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

What are your performance settings?

How large are the files (in filesize on disc and in pixel dimensions) you are working on and how many do you usually have open at any one time?

What makes you think that the issue is metadata? Can you provide sample images for verification? You could crop the images smaller, the pixel size isn't important in this context. Just Save As or Save a Copy, don't use Export As or Save for Web (Legacy).

go to edit menu, clear memory, click on all.
