Do the shortcuts (option + plus) and (option + minus) exist for Photoshop on the Mac? This will be the last post about this, but please help answer the question.

I read your other post, but i really don't understand what your asking?

Are those shortcuts supposed to something by themselves in photoshop?

You can use Cmd+Option+or- to zoom and resize document window if your using floating document windows.

I am simply asking if specific shortcuts called (option + plus) and (option + minus) exist in Photoshop for any kind of use? Do the shortcuts exist? Or are they invalid shortcuts that don't exist for Photoshop?

The Option, just like the Shift key modifies commands but is not a command by itself.

Shortcut keys are either Command or F (function) keys.

For example

Cmd s is File > Save

Opt + Cmd s is File > Save As

For Windows users, use the Alt key.

To see for yourself, go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts, find a command without a shortcut key and try to  add "Opt -". You will get a red x and a warning that it is an "invalid shortcut." With  that, Derek can help you with a custom keyboard command if you tell him what you want it for.

Most likely the answer is no (invalid shortcut by itself), since Option+ or - can't be assigned as a shortcut for menu items or tools and Option can't even be used in Action shortcuts. You can however use Option + or - as long as you also add Cmd.

Hi Greg,

I could not find Opt plus or minus shortcuts on the defaul keyboad shortcuts article for Photoshop: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/photoshop/using/default-keyboard-shortcuts.html

Opt +/- is often used to create a keyboard shortcut with a different key, for example:

Switch to Zoom Out tool

Alt + spacebar

Option + spacebar

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Sahil
