Recently when straightening a horizon line using the Crop Tool, my pixel size drops about 50%.  What's going on?

One thing to check for: In the options bar when the Crop tool is selected, are there any numbers entered in the dimensions and resolution fields, especially the resolution field? Because if those are filled in,  that tells the Crop tool to resample the cropped/straightened result to whatever values are entered, changing the width and height in pixels. If you don’t want that to happen, the fastest way to fix that is to click the Clear button there.

If those fields are blank, it should only straighten without resampling.
