Issue with Variable Data in Photoshop – "Replacement file not found" error

New Here ,
Feb 14, 2025 Feb 14, 2025
Hi everyone, I'm trying to use variable data in Photoshop to generate multiple cards, and I've successfully imported my Excel CSV file without any issues. The data appears correctly in the Data Sets under "Image > Variables > Data Sets." However, when I try to preview or apply a data set, I get the following error message: "Could not apply the data set because the replacement file was not found." All my variables are being read correctly, and the values show up in Photoshop's Data Sets panel. However, it seems like Photoshop isn't finding the linked files.

I see you have one pixel replacement variable; perhaps that's the issue? Try this: select the line with the image replacement, then use the Select File button to navigate to the image you want to use for the replacement.

Could there be any typos or illegal characters in the csv file?

The text file encoding may not be correct for images using non-standard characters.

Can you upload the .csv file? You might need to rename it .txt for the forum software.
