Issues with Crop Tool and Guides in Photoshop 21.x.x (SOLVED with 21.1.0)
UPDATE, February 20, 2020: with the latest release, 21.1.0, this issue is finally fixed. THANKS! 🙂
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you have guides on an image, and try to crop to the guides, the crop tool changes to the 'move guide' tool and moves the guides instead of allowing the user to crop to the guides (which is why MANY of use use guides in the first place). An also, guides are re-located after crop, if you lock them to avoid previous problem…
More detailed description of problem:
- I have “Classic Mode” for Crop Tool (don't like those giant handles for the “modern one”)
- 4 guides pre-defining the area to be cropped.
- Select the Crop Tool.
- First you go to the upper left corner between 2 guides, to start drawing your crop, and…
- Damn! Instead to start drawing, some of 2 crossing guides are moved! (this never occured before, with previous versions of Photoshop, no matter the guides where unlocked)
- Now you need to LOCK the guides, before crop. OK: lock guides.
- Draw my Crop area and press Enter.
- Damn! Now the crop is done but my guides completely re-located! This is crap.
