Issues with GPU and Out of video memory errors
I have been having frequent problems with Photoshop since getting my new PC. The problems usually occur within 15-30 minutes of starting photoshop.
Restarting the computer fixes the issue temporarilty until it occurs again.
When using Camera Raw I get this error:
The graphics processor has encountered an out-of-memory error.
Due to a run-time error GPU acceleration has been reverted to Basic for the remainder of the session.
When using Photoshop I have gotten this error:
The exception unkown software exception (0xe0000008) occured in the application at location 0x00007FFAD6D94F99.
or
Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled enhancements which use the graphics hardware.
It seems to happen when RAM usage on my system gets high, around 80%.
It has also happened when there was much lower RAM usage so it may be coincedence.
When using 3070ti the device manager displays a warning.
Status: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
I do not get this warning with the RTX 2080 but still get the out of video memory error.
Solutions I have tried:
-DDU and reinstall latest nvidia drivers.
-Ensuring all connections are secure.
-Swapping GPU from RTX 3070ti to RTX 2080
-Changing BIOS pcie form auto to Gen3
-Nvidia control panel: prefer maximum performance
-Changed daisy chain to dual cable.
-I don't use a riser cable
-Tried reseating the GPU and ram.
-Ensured all chipset and windows updates are current
-Reverted photoshop to Version 22.0
-Ran memtest
-Ran windows memory diagnostic
-Windows is up to date
