Just Curious - Better Selection with Cloud Processing

Question

Nowadays we have some pretty powerful processors, for example M1 Pro/Max... so after today's 23.5 update, I'm just curious why we can only get better selection results when using the cloud service?

The AI cloud service would seem to be a good option for someone who had a less capable processor, but it seems like the selections are being artifically limited for capable powerful processors.

You're assuming that your processor is faster and more accurate than the cloud which is usually not the case. Machine learning and cloud computing is always a benefit, not a limiation when it comes to calculating selections. The processing power to do a subject selection on your Mac while running the OS and Photoshop will be limited, not the other way around.
