P: Photoshop Polygonal Lasso tool & pen tool Backspace does not delete anchor points

Bonjour ! Avec Windows 10 et Photoshop CC 2024 l'outil lasso polygonal refuse les retours arrière.

Pourriez-vous me dire ce qui peut causer ce problème assez désagréable s'il vous plait ?

I'm on Windows. I've tried the trouble shooting that Adobe staff suggested when this was an bissue two years ago. I REALLY NEED THOSE FUNCTIONS TO WORK!

We're sorry for the trouble with the keyboard shortcuts. Which Photoshop version are you on right now? Since how long you're seeing this issue with Photoshop? I have tried using the similar shortcuts with the Polygon Lasso tool, and it works fine at my end. I have using it on Photoshop 2024 & 2025 versions.

You may try and reset the Photoshop preferences back to defaults and check if that helps.

Go to the location of the preference folder mentioned below and rename it to back up. (https://adobe.ly/3u7u84j)
macOS: Hold down the Option key in the Finder when using the Go menu. The library will appear below the current user's home directory.Library > Preferences > Adobe Photoshop [version] SettingsRename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2025 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2025.old)This will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a new installation.

Bonsoir à toutes et tous !

Me voici de retour et cette fois avec la version Photoshop 2025.

Rien à faire j'ai de gros soucis avec l'outil lasso polygonal qui lorsqu'il ne se permet pas de sélectionner ce qu'il veut refuse les retours arrière.

On m'a conseillé de le faire en appuyant sur un autre touche en même temps sur mon clavier mais non cet outil refuse.

Est-ce que quelqu'un connait une astuce pour que l'on puisse voir correctement les crans de la règle ?

Moi j'ai vraiment du mal à distinguer car j'ai besoin de précisions souvent.

Merci si vous pouvez m'aider !

Ah, j'ai oublié sur les sites inscrits en Anglais pas moyen de faire fonctionner l'extension alors les traductions viennent s'ajouter à mes précédents problèmes.

Hey, @THOMAS60. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.

As a test, try using the Polygonal Lasso tool with the Shift key to draw straight lines before using backspace to erase. If that does not work, reset the Polygonal Lasso tool itself. Right-click on the P. Lasso Tool icon in the Toolbar menu and select Reset Tool.

Thank you for your help. Indeed I have not yet had a tool blockage using the lock key. For the reset I have no effect on the tool with this word because it does not appear.

I just launched PS 2025, and unfortunately the Magnetic, as well as the Polygon Lasso tool are bugged. When selecting with the lasso, I cannot move the viewport by holding down [SPACE]. When using the magnetic lasso, I cannot undo the previews points by hitting [BACKSPACE] anymore, as it was practice in all previous PS editions.

I really wonder, do they do Product QA before releasing new builds? I imagine they are using AI heavily not only for creative purposes but also in technical fields, like bug finding. Even if the QA department consists of humans only, a quick tour of all tools should have revealed flaws.

Being a adobe user since more than 25 years I'm really intruiged where this company is heading...

When I am using the magnetic lasso tool, my keyboard shortcuts have stopped working, or work sporadically. I am using the Creative Cloud. I have tried using Photoshop 2025, Photoshop Beta, and even Photoshop 2021, but they all do the same things.

While making a selection, pressing the space bar will not allow me to move around the canvas.

While making a selection, Ctrl+ and Ctrl- will not zoom in or out.

While making a selection, delete or backspace will not delete that last anchor point.

Is there some setting that has been reset during an update? Everything was working correctly until a couple of days ago.
