Keyboard / Wacom Tablet Problems After Recent PS updates

I am having problems with the way my keyboard and Wacom tablet function in Photoshop after recent udates. This is under Windows 10, 64bit, PS version 24.6.

Keyboard: Keyboard doesn't sweitch functions in PS. Sometimes I have to press and hold the key or, else it reverts to the old function.

Example: I am in zoom mode (Z). I press H to switch to hand tool. It switches to hand tool momentarily and if I relase the H key, it reverts back to zoom! Or the other way. I am in hand tool mode and clciking z doesn't switch to zoom mode if I release the  Z key on my keyboard.

Sometimes, if I click H twice, it switches to H, sometimes not. I keep pressing H key on my keyboard and then somehow it switches to H.

Sometimes the problem disappears for a while but comes back some again.

Wacom tablet and pen: The hand tool does not want to release the image. I am zoomed into the image and use hand tool to navigate. In the past, I could simply hover and click to diassociate the image motion from the pen's movement. Now, it persists on holding onto the image and moving within it.

Scrubby Zoom: The option has completely disappeared. It is not gray-put. It is simply not there any more.

Anyone having any idea what's going on here?

Thanks.

Hi @raminolta go to preferences/Tools and uncheck "Spring Loaded Tool Shortcuts". Restart PS.

As for the scrubby zoom, go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and copy/paste details in a reply. Post only once as the system takes time to process the large amount of data.

This fixed not only the first part of the question (which seems like the intended Spring Loaded Tools functionality), but also the "Wacom Tablet and Pen" paragraph.  I was having an issue with the zoom, hand, move and transform tools (plus maybe others) all getting stuck as if my pen was still on the tablet when lifting the pen, rather than committing the change.  Turning off Spring Loaded Tool Shortcuts seems to have fixed them all.

Unchecking the Spring Loaded Tool Shortcuts did the trick. It brought back the scrubby zoom too. Wondering if it was me who inadvertently checked this option causing the dilemma or an update checked ticked the box somehow.

Spring loaded tool shortcuts are in Photoshop since ages (at least 2008/2009: https://creativepro.com/spring-loaded-tools-in-cs5/ ). But recently, there was an addition of a timer in Preferences to adjust when they take effect, as plenty of digital painters complained that the function was in their way.

My gut feeling is that there is a OS change, or tablet drivers that intercept/interfere. but the fact that digital painters were affected and the OP's resolution of problem leads me towards Tablet Driver interference.
