Question

Knockout using Threshold makes picture disappear?

Hey

looking for some help when using the Knockout blending option with threshold.

I'm following a YouTube tutorial and stuck due to the below issue:

what I'm doing is;

Original picture layer at the bottom

adding a threshold adjustment layer

adding a second threshold adjustment layer

going to advanced blending options and changing the second threshold layer to "deep" at this point the picture then disappears.

If I use a greyscale document I can get it to work, I need it to be in colour as per the tutorial, so this is confusing me even more!

I can't find any answers to what the issue is!

any help is appreciated!

cheers

Deep knockout knocks through to a background layer, if the bottom layer is not a background layer then it knoocks through to transparency

So the question is this. Is your bottom layer a background layer or an ordinary layer (e.g. layer 0)? It sounds like the latter.

I've tried both,

originally is was my photo I was working on

at the bottom, then I tried with a coloured layer below my photo to see if It made a difference.

tried multiple versions of the photo piled on top of each other haha.

When I switch the deep knockout on it does go to transparency though.

what I'm confused by is if I greyscale the document it will work.
