Lasso tool lag with MacOS & Photoshop (22.1) update

I now experience severe lag only when using the lasso tool in photoshop after updating to macOS Big Sur. I updated Photoshop from 2019 to 2021 (22.1) in an attempt to fix the issue, and this did not work. This has never occured before performing these updates. Are there any known solutions at this time? This is severly impacting my current workflow.

ON the current M1 iMac, the latet PS update 22.5.1 REALLY caused a lag in the lasso tool of all things! 5-10 seconds after every draw use of the tool. Reverted back to previous version. I really don't believe Adobe tests any updates ever. Now I can't trust any further updates from here on...
