I'm having issues getting the Lasso Selection tool to select and allow me to only move the area that is selected while on the photoshop computer application. Currently even with a selection made on a pixel layer, when I use the move tool it moves the entire layer not the selected part of the layer by itself that I'm trying to move.
To give some clarity and create some possible understanding for the situation, the file I'm working in was started and created in Adobe Fresco on my iPad. I've had to adjust the ppi resolution since bringing it onto my computer and am adding final touches and fixes to finish my image.
My Macbook is running macOS Big Sur 11.6
Photoshop v 22.5.1
The content on the selected layer is a Smart Object, so you can't select a section of its pixels. If you would like to select the pixels and move them, you could either double-click on the layer thumbnail to open the Smart Object to edit its contents or rasterize the Smart Object (if you rasterize it, you might want to duplicate the Smart Object layer first so that you can go back to it).

Also, as I have just discovered, if your feather is set too high you'll get an error that only 50% of the pixels are selected and may not appear. Feather to zero fixed it.
