Latency when the “use graphics processor” option is checked in the performance tab

Use the driver direct from NVidia and Select the Studio driver - not the game ready driver. The studio drivers are released less often but are better tested for applications such as Photoshop.

When installing choose advanced options and click Clean install that will ensure remnants of the previous driver are overwritten. Do not install the option GeForce Experience software. It is for games and not required for creative apps.

I did restart Photoshop after changing the setting. The most likely explanation would be an incompatibility between the driver provided by MSI for my laptop and PS. I'm still looking for potential solutions.

The second clip is not at 100% view (Ctrl+1) so cannot be used as a comparison of line quality between the two.

I can't see a difference in lag between the two video clips, but that may just be because I have not got control of the mouse/pen.

Note : After checking/unchecking 'Use graphics processor' you need to restart Photoshop, or at least start a brand new document.

Can you supply screenshots demonstrating the linework difference from both. Ensure View is set to 100% and include the options bar for the brush

I've already tried this, the problem is really that when Photoshop uses my gpu, it's much less fluid.

You can though force Photoshop to use a specific GPU.

In the NVidia control panel go to 3D settings and force Photoshop to use the NVidia (may be described as 'high performance') GPU

I can't disable my second gpu because I'm on a laptop.

It seems you have a dual GPU setup, which can cause problems. Please try disabling the integrated GPU completely.
