latest mouse over feature and performance

The release notes state: "View an object's boundaries as you mouse over them on the canvas. While the boundary outline is displayed, the corresponding layer will be highlighted in the Layers panel."

While I like this new feature, I suspect it might be the reason for the noticable performence drop I'm experiencing since the latest relase... 😕😕

Is there a way to deactivate this?
