Latest Photoshop updated won't let you create Bitmaps

Latest Photoshop v 25.7 update won't let you create real Bitmaps. Anyone else have this issue?

Bitmaps when opened in Illustrator can not be coloured and show white background instead of being Black with transparency and being able to be coloured.

Actually seems to be an issue with teh latest Illustrator update.  Had to roll that back to an older version.
