Question

Layer Style Parameters changing when copied between documents.

So, i've been working on a few different assets today, and have been running into some odd behaviour. When i'm transferring my layer style between documents (either by copying, or applying from a saved template via my library) i'm getting different values on bevel size and softening, as well as shadow distance and size.

For example, going from one document to another a 2px size bevel and 2px soften become a 17px bevel and 8px soften.

If I correct the bevel and soften to the intended values and apply it to the other document either through coping or via a saved style in the library it ends up doing the inverse with the pixel parameters all becoming 0px instead.

Whilst i am able to work around it doing this, it's a little irritating to keep having to adjust things every time i'm copying styles.  Any ideas what might be going on?

256x256 size, 300 pixels/inch, rgb 8bit on every piece.  Can end up opening the same file multiple times, apply the layer style to each, and get a different effect, pixel values being the only thing changing.  Layer styles remain constant in each individual piece, but don't match if applied to another document.

I didn't tried it yet.

But two questions:

Does this also happens if you use two files with 72 ppi?

Does this also happens if you directly drag&drop a layer with the layer style?

Applying the style on 72ppi still is throwing off the pixel parameters all over the place.  Dragging and dropping a layer with its layer style seems to work fine.

Pixel (size)

or Pixel per inch (resolution)
