Layers tab "disappears" on startup

New Here ,

Hi everyone,

I'm using Photoshop CS6 and I noticed the Layers tab does this strange thing when I start the program. If you notice on the right of the screenshot, the Layers tab is highlighted but nothing within the tab shows. In order for it to work, I have to click on the tab once and everything inside will appear.

Any idea why PS is doing this? I rarely move things from their default position, so that tab has been there since I installed the program. It started doing this maybe 2 weeks ago. Thanks!

Hi

Try resetting Photoshop preferences

To restore preferences quickly using a keyboard shortcut: Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop

You may want to backup your settings first

Migrate presets, actions, and settings
