Learn Photoshop and system Requirements (macOS)

Hi All,

I have a couple of questions:

1. I am looking for books or anything that would teach me photoshop and have exercises to apply the knowledge. ANy suggestions?

2. Looking for the above material I found books talking about PS CC or PS C4 or PS C6. What are those versions and how do I find one which version I have? I just purchesed the creative cloud and working on a Mac. 

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

And many of us actually teach using that book, so ask questions and you can always take a class with an instructor.

    Those versions are at least 10 years old, so it would be best not to use books based on those versions. A lot has changed.

    One suggestion would be the official Adobe Photoshop Classroom in a Book from Adobe Press. It has exercises and sample files. Disclosure: I work on that book, so I am biased. 🙂 There are other good Photoshop books, but not all of them have exercises and sample files.

      Thank you Conrad, I will definitely check it out! I believe true learning takes place not by only watching along or reading, but applying what you learn as well. I browsed tens of free and paid courses, but it is difficult to determine which course is actually good and will do the job for you.
      I have the creative cloud.

        CS stands for Creative Suite. The non-subscription version of Adobe apps was often bundled together for a price break. Now Adobe offers CC apps or Creative Cloud apps. They are subscription-based. 

        Product support is available to current software users only and subscribers with a paid Creative Cloud plan.   https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/plans.html

         

        The most current version of Photoshop is 23.2.2; You can check the version by going to Photoshop > About Photoshop.
