Leave multiple colors in Photoshop

Hello,

I have a photo where I want to isolate two colors. One person has pink books and the other a purple dress.

I was able to isolate the pink boots. However, when I try doing the same for the dress, after I adjust the hue it

affects the boots and the dress. How do I isolate the dress so only the hue of the dress changes?

Thanks,

Garret

Create a Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer, make a selection of the dress or boots and apply it as a mask.

Then adjust the sliders. Repeat for. the second item. The method for making the selection (Quick Selection tool, Quick Mask, Color Range, etc) depends upon the image and areas to be selected. In the sample above, the Quick Selection tool was used.)

Hi garret, Sounds a bit like you have changed the color of the objects on one layer. You should try doing each one on their own layer and when finished, flatten the image, merge layers. I have also use the Photoshop select wand or lasso tools and drop in the color with the paint bucket all on one layer. Best regards, JH
