Leaving Adobe after 28 years: Affordability

I've been using Photoshop since 1997.  During the course of this time, I have purchsed the "Suite" in 3 different iterations, and upgraded until the subsription model started.  I'm a hobbiest photographer and use Photoshop to edit my images.  I do not sell my images or have a business, I jsut find that this product works best for my needs.  Starting at the end of this subscription, my cost will go from $10 per month to $20 per month.  Based on my current income, the product has become un-affordable.  Over the course of the past 23 years I know that I have invested at least $3000 in the "Suite" versions and another $1200 in subscriptions.  I have helped Adobe get where they are today, but it appears they are not willing to assist me in continueing to enjoy the benefits which I have supported for over two decades.  Adobe has "priced" me out of the market.

"my cost will go from $10 per month to $20 per month"

The $10 suggests you may have the 'Photography Plan 20GB'-

If that is so- then a change of payment method, from monthly to yearly, will keep your cost at $10 (paid annually).

This is a 'grandfathering offer' from Adobe to keep you at the same cost if you pay yearly.

You must change your payment method before you current plan expires.

I did just that a couple of months ago:  My cost went up from $9.99 to $14.99- which is a still a good deal.

Hi @Glenn 8675309   Well that should not have happened if you had only changed the payment method. -Unless something has changed that I don't know about. Obviously Adobe switched you to the new plan at the higher cost, or payment method was kept at the 'Monthly' (higher) rate. I have seen a few posts where people were 'switched' to the new plan instead of just changing the payment method. Naturally if your plan had expired then the new Lightroom Plans are the only options.

Note the "NO CHANGE" for the Photography Plan 20GB paid 'Yearly'!
