Left and Right Bracket Keys Randomly Don't Work - I have a solution and suggestion for Adobe

Like many others, my left and right bracket keys would randomly stop working. I tried all of the suggestions and even reassigned the keys, but to no avail. In trying to fix this, I discovered the problem.

I use dodging and burning a great deal, and it always stopped after I changed the range. I then noticed after changing the range with my Wacom pen, the range box remained highlighted. And as soon as that happened, the brackets stopped working. 

A workaround is to hit the enter key after changing the range. But the real solution would be for Adobe to accept my new range choice and take the highlight off of the range drop down box. 

Adobe, how do I get that fix into the suggestion box?
