Hi all

I have Abobe cc and have all my apps installed on my desktop. When I travel around I want to do some really simple photo editing for my posts/articles. Problem is that my laptop is quite low end and struggles with the adobe apps. Can anyone tell me if there is a lighter weight photoshop? I only want to do some simple editing, resizing and exporting for web

Cheers

Nigel

    Hi Nigel,

If your laptop struggles with the full version of Photoshop, there are a couple of lightweight alternatives that can serve your purpose well:

    1. Adobe Photoshop Express:

      • This is a free, lightweight version of Photoshop available for mobile and web. It’s perfect for quick edits like resizing, basic touch-ups, and exporting for the web.
      • You can access it from your laptop browser or even download the mobile app for on-the-go editing.
    2. Adobe Lightroom Mobile or Lightroom CC:

      • Lightroom CC is less resource-intensive compared to Photoshop CC and allows for basic edits like cropping, resizing, and adjusting exposure or colors.
    3. Alternative Tools:

      • Tools like Canva or Pixlr are also excellent lightweight options. They work in browsers and are quite resource-friendly.

Additionally, if you're optimizing your travel-related photos for use on websites, check out resources like Faisal Movers Info. They provide insights and tips for enhancing digital workflows, including optimizing images for web content.

These tools should make editing on your low-end laptop much easier while ensuring your travel posts look great!

Photoshop Elements will serve you well because somehow, what you expect to be "light Photoshop" jobs often turn out to be a lot more, especially when you are on the road. Be a Scout: Be prepared. It is not an expense.  It's an investment.

Get an iPad. You can use your phone if you don't have fat fingers and old eyes like me.

    Hi there,

As suggested by Ged, you can get Photoshop Express to do basic image editing while travelling.

Please have a look at this article to know more about it: Adobe Photoshop Express FAQ
