Liquify brings up blank image

Explorer ,
May 19, 2024 May 19, 2024

Out of nowhere, liquify stopped working. It brings up a blank image. I'm in PS2024 im Wim 11.  Oddly, if I use one of the liquify tools in the white space, when I click OK, that operation HAS been applied to the corresponding location in the image.

Based on tips I was able to find online and comments in this forum, I have tried the following to no avail:

  • Disabling the graphic card
  • Removing all Wacom software & drivers
  • Unchecking use graphics processor in settings
  • I even installed the beta to see if it was fixed, but the same thing happened. I have since removed the beta and am back to 2024 and the same problem

I've had to resort to editing an image from Lightroom --> Affinity Photo to use their Liquify feature (that's a great program BTW) and then exporting a copy back into the folder it came from, syncing the folder in LR, and then continue editing in PS. HUGE PAIN.

IS there a solution to this problem??

TIA,

Richard

I'm a friggin idiot. Somehow, and not by me, the Show Image checkbox was UNchecked in the liqiufy screen. I discovered this when going for a screen capture and looking carefully at all the settings.  Once checked, it is now working.. Thanks to all who responded to this post!

What are the pixel dimensions of the layer or canvas?

Backup actions, presets and reset preferences.

Hi Stephen,

  • It happens at all pixel dimension
  • I have no backup action that I know of
  • Same for presets
  • Reset prefernces are no set to anything.  Should I try turning on reset on quit?  What does this do?

Thanks,

Richard

PLEASE, anybody, how can I get this working?  It is beyond annoying!  It happens regardless of image size.

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible and with teh Liquify dialog?

What are the »Show Backdrop« settings etc.?
