Liquify smart filter not re-editable in 22.1.1 and 22.1 releases

Hello

In the last two releases liquify tool used as the smart filter is broken. It cannot be edited/amended as it resets or shows different results. Additionally, any action in the document that causes the smart filter to recalculate also breaks the liquify results.

I hope it will be fixed soon as it's a big problem for anyone using this tool.

If anyone is still having this issue, the setting that was causing it on my system was switched off OpenCL in Preferences/Advanced settings.

I suggest trying that before resetting all the preferences as others suggested as it may save you a bit of a hassle 🙂

Removing settings fixed the problem for me. Not sure which setting causes it to misbehave, but I've moved back:

Keyboard Shortcuts Primary.psp; Keyboard Shortcuts.psp; Workspace Prefs.psp; Menu Customization.psp

Just move this folder elsewhere and test if it fixes liquefy behavior:

Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2021\Adobe Photoshop 2021 Settings

Having same problem. Even swiching it off and on does not bring results back.

I'm having the same exact issue.  This is really easy to replicate.  1) copy layer 2) filter/convert for smart filters 3) filter/liquify 4) edit liquify (notice it's reverted to the original)

Id like to add to this that I am having the same issue. Every time I try to re-open the liquify dialog from the smart filter, it resets to the image's initial state. That basically breaks the whole purpose of this tool and it is very frustrating because I use it very often in my workflow for non destructive liquifying.

Can you provide a file?

No problem here.

So you may have an issue on your side, like canvas or position changes after the original application of the Smart Filter.

Please post meaningful screenshots.
