Loading Camera Raw Photos into Stack

Hi, Just installed the new 2021 PS and it will not allow for Camera Raw Photos to be loaded into stack. File/Scrips/Load files into Stack is the method used. It did load them before the 2021 update. Also notiched that in the Camera Raw editor under options, if you turn off "open as smart object" it will allow for raw images to be loaded into stack in the file/scrips/load into stack menu. Some bug I will assume?

I would appreciate any help on this?

Thanks

Your ACR Workflow default is set to open Raw file as smart objects. Change that default setting to open then as background layers. You can have Load Files into a stack convert the stack into a smart object so you can  use stack mode blending.  That Stack need to be normal layer not hardened  smart objects. I do not know why that is the case.

Thank you for the reply. Loading camera raw images into stack as raw does not work when the check box in ACR is checked for open as smart object. Before the 2021 update it worked with the box checked in ACR. Looking at your photo attached it would give me the same error code. I wish they could make it react as it did before. Like that when opening raw images in ACR the mistake of not turning it back on won't happen.

I know it's a small thing now that I figured what was causing the code. It would be nice not to loose the funtionality.

Thanks again
