Hello everyone.
I recently upgraded my PC and now I'm thinking of buying new XP-Pen graphics tablet for it. As I have been using only a pen tablet DECO 02 for art, I'm thinking of getting a pen display. The problem is, I don't know much about them.
So I'm looking for help in deciding what kind of pen display I should buy. It should be something that I can hook up into my PC, so portability is not an issue, though I am willing to consider the options.
Thinking of this, I was going to get the XP-Pen Artist 15.6, but then I discovered that Wacom is planning to release the Artist 15.6 pro sometime next year. Because of the impending release, the Artist15.6 ( https://www.xp-pen.com/goods/show/id/225.html ) is currently on sale.
So should I wait for the release of the pro version, or go with the Artist 15.6 ? Or is there another alternative that I should consider? Or is the pen display just a waste of my money and I should stick with the pen tablet DECO 02 ( https://www.xp-pen.com/goods/show/id/324.html )?
Thanks for your time!

I have a Wacom Cintiq Companion 2 and a Wacom MobileStudio Pro. I love them both.
Being able to draw directly on the screen has really changed how I create art.
You can view my work via the following link.... just as inspiration.

What you need to consider when buying equipment is how will your art evolve and will you eventually start using other software. Example... I never would have started using Illustrator as I was the biggest Photoshop fan-boy ever. Then I got into Illustrator. I did not think I would return to animation... but I did. Now I use Animate CC and Character Animator. So even though I did not think my work would evolve or that I would start using new software... I am glad that I thought ahead.
Now I am event starting to toy around again with 3D graphics. So, again something I did not consider when getting my devices... but I am glad I got devices that could work with however I evolve as an artist.

I never heard of that tablet before. Looks promising. I'll have to look into it a bit. Also you can't go wrong with Wacom. I've never had a chance to try the Mobile Studio Pro or the Cintiq companions since they were out of my price range, I loved my Cintiq 13HD. My personal preference right now is my iPad Pro using Astropad. Mainly because I'm in love with the pencil. For some reason, it took forever to get comfortable with the Wacon styluses, it would easily cramp my hand up. Not so much with the Apple Pencil. It fits the same as my Lead Holders I use when I work analog, so its not a huge change when I go to digital...that and it seems to handle tilt a lot better than any of the Wacom styluses I've used. But its all a matter of preference.

Similiar to Dave above Wacom Cintiq have always out of my price range however I used Wacom Bamboo for many years and loved it.
Two years ago, I bought a Microsoft Surface Pro which comes with pressure sensitive stylus (made by Wacom by the way) and loved it since That's my go-to now, with stylus being used on this lovely touchscreen all the time

It is funny the first time my wife and I touched an Intuos... she was able to work on it quite well. For me maybe I am too old school. I like drawing on the screen. But when you look at my work you can see how that really comes in handy with the art that I create.
I think with the Cintiq Companion 2 and MobileStudio Pro you have more power as compared to the Microsoft Surface Pro.
Again, I think the best thing to do is consider how your artwork will evolve.
My setup for my devices is pretty cool. I am also running a Logitech c922 ProCam and Blue Snowball Microphone... which was meant for content creation..... but it is funny.... now they are getting a lot of use with Adobe Character Animator.
Just think ahead.... where do you picture your art going, what programs do you want to learn.... then really look carefully at the devices.
My devices are mobile... which rocks! I can work from home, in an office, in a cafe, in the park or on a train. Ok granted right now with this global heatwave.... I am not going to be sitting in the park this summer working. But I did last year on my Cintiq Companion 2!
