Lost Menu Bar

I work on 2 montors and am able to use #2.  Obviously I hit some keys accidentally as #1 monitor retained the photo I was working on and thr ruler bars are on the top and side, but about 1/4 the original size.  Everything else is gone. Even the taskbar with I kept at the bottom of the screen.  The Start icon (at the far left on the taskbar) is the only shortcut left on #2. That and Chrome which I have open.  I've tried the F9 key to no avail. Actually pressed all the F keys but nothing happens.  I've brought up Photoshop 2025 on thr Start icon and pressed it twice while holding down Shift-Ctrl-Alt and the items I use on #2 popped up (tool bar, patterns, color, brushes, etc) but no menu bar on #1. Actually I would like all three bars.  I can also get these by right clicking on the #1 screen.  I am totally at a loss.  Can anyone tell me how to get the menu bar back on monitor #1?

Hey, @HangtownGal. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll move this post to discussions. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Please share screenshots of how it appears now.

You can go to Window > Workspace > Reset Essentials, and this should help. If it does not, ensure there are no stale preferences in your Photoshop; go to the location of the preference folder below, and rename it to backup.

  • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
  • You can press Press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe
  • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2025 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2025. old), you can later restore these preferences if needed.(https://adobe.ly/4860qM9)
  • Restart the computer.

These changes will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a fresh install. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

@Sameer K

Thank you so very much for your response.  After a few hours I gave up on yesterdays project and started today with a fresh image and prompt.  Still, the only thing that happens is that Adobe takes more credits. LOL It looks like I'm going to lose all of them just trying to figure Firefly out.  In fact I tried to post today with today's problem [same as yesterday] but get the message "Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied." I'm unaware of any HtML invaid or not but I can't post.  I reset the workspace as you suggested but it doesn't appear that it corrected my problem.

My current image won't upload, but the URL is  https://www.etsy.com/listing/266243204/ballet-charm-earrings-ballet-jewelry?ref=shop_home_active_32&frs=1&logging_key=3cb4f0b5c0903bbff6505cee98f1be795ddb569d%3A266243204

The Propt I used is

Two ballerina charms in purple tutus are in a room that has wooden floors and 2 walls of mirrors with a practice bar. The ballerinas twirl. The one on the left bows from the waist.

I don't know what's wrong.  Is there a problem you see with the prompt?  Dang I get the same eror message when I preview this reply!

Hi @HangtownGal, Are you still having issues with the Menu Bar? Or are you now having trouble with GenAI prompts? Here are some articles about getting started with GenAI in Photoshop: https://adobe.ly/4mEtmCK

Regarding prompts: As you may know, specificity and clarity are key to effective AI prompting. Instead of vague instructions, use detailed language. Avoid using verbs like “generate,” “create,” or “make” in your prompt. For instance, maybe try something like, "Two ballerina charms wearing purple tutus are dancing in a ballet studio. The studio has wooden floors, mirrored walls on two sides, and a ballet practice barre. The ballerinas are twirling gracefully. The ballerina on the left bows from the waist." The AI often generates multiple options. Use the “Generate Similar” feature to iterate on a desired result or rephrase your prompt slightly to refine the output. This is especially useful when working with complex compositions or stylized effects.

I hope this helps! Feel free to let us know if you need any more help. Thanks! ^CH
