Mac Mini M4 Pro. Photoshop 2050 (latest). Photoshop freezes on start-up. Only "Shift" allowes to start. Deleted previous version's including all Adobe programs. Re-installed all. Deleated and re-installed Affinity, DXO, Nik, On1 programs. Reset preferences etc. Followed every suggestion I could find on Adobe site, forums and on-line, no luck.

I know you meant 2025. Which version -- 15.0/15.1/15.2? [oops, add 11]

I searched the Known issues in Photoshop webpage, saw nothing about "mini" freezing and various combinations of search terms. So you accidentally discovered holding Shift allows the app to start? Ingenious.

I think uninstalling/reinstalling might have been too radical.

What else is running when you try to start Ps? Can we assume your M4 Pro has enough RAM, VRAM, meets minimum requirements?

The PS is 26.2.0 I had to remove Affinity Photo 2.5.7, On1 NoNoise AI2024, On1 Effects 2024 On1 Photo Raw 2025, Nik Collection 7. There after I used Micromat  TechTool Pro 20, Onyx 4.7.3, Mac Disc Utility. Result now is that Photoshop doesn't open at all.

Nothing else is running when I'm trying to start PS. Mac M4 Pro has: Sequoia 15.2, memory 48GB, 2T drive.

Pressing Shift when starting Photoshop skips the loading of third party plugins, so if Photoshop is freezing because of a plugin then make sure you've got the latest versions from the plugin maker.

If Photoshop doesn't crash and produce a crash report then you'll probably need to remove all the third party plugins and install each one till you find the culprit.

The plugins from ON1 are the ones we see reported here on the forum as causing the most freezes and crashes with Photoshop.

The plan is now to take PS out as well. Then re-install PS Then Affinity. Then Nik 7. There after depends, maybe ON1 Photo Raw...

Removed Affinity, Topaz Photo AI, Topaz Gigapixel AI, ON1 Photo Raw and any and every PS related program, plug-in, extensions, preferences etc. Then Creative cloud uninstaller, Creative Cloud Cleaner, installer. Now installed one program after another: the PS crashed because ON1 Resize AI. ON1 recommends to buy program to create plug-in in PS. Could it be possible that ON1 intentionally sabotage other vendors? PS community should look into this and depending on findings needs to react accordingly.
