Since you said this just started happening, could it be that something has become corrupt outside of the preferences?

If your apps were working on the same machine before & have recently started encountering this error, please try these steps and let me know if they help.

• In the Creative Cloud app, press CTRL + ALT + T (Win) or CMD + OPT + T (macOS) to launch Creative Cloud Troubleshooter & select 'Close Creative Cloud and related processes' > click on Go.
  Doublecheck the Task Manager (Windows) & Activity Monitor (macOS) to ensure no processes related to Adobe or Creative Cloud are running & end the process if found active.
• Windows - Press Windows + R to open Run Dialogue > enter %TEMP% > Click on OK > Delete any files or folders with 'NGL' in their names.
• macOS - In Finder > press & hold OPT key > go to the top menu GO > Select Library > go to Logs > Delete any files or folders with 'NGL' in their names.
• Restart the computer
• Sign in to Creative Cloud again.

You're absolutely correct about the procedure. These .bmp files are coming from avidemux and are extracted from in situ experiments in a microscope!

Thank you for the video @Jean-Philippe24716733jxp6, we want to make sure we are trying the same steps....

1. Open a .bmp file

2. In menu, go to Image>Mode>Grayscale

3. In popup select Discard

4. Use keyboard shortcut cmd+s to save the now greyscale .bmp

Expected result: Top menu items drop down as you scroll over them

Actual result: menu items remain grayed out and no dropdowns are visable.

Is this what you are showing in your video, did we miss anything?

Curious what settings you are using to save your .bmp files, it looks like 8bit correct?

Unfortunately it didn't work. The problem is when I open .bmp and then I change the mode (color to shades of grey) that the menus are no more accessibles (no scrolling).
