Mac Photoshop CC V25.4 - cant get the UI scaling to work

Ive recently (yesterday) bought a 4k monitor and am having a lot of problem with the UI in PS being too small. I really need to adjust the UI Scaling to 200% but it's permamantly greyed out and I dont know how to get it to work.

I've managed to adjust the UI in Illustrator so its now pretty good but PS remains small despite the font size set to large and "scale UI to font size" being checked.

Weird thing was that I'm sure this option was editable earlier on but its now greyed out!

This feature is grayed out in the Preferences because UI scaling in Photoshop is not available on Mac OS. Display scaling is locked to the System Settings > Display setting. The UI font size preference in Preferences > Interface, does still work, but the size change is minimal. If you're having trouble seeing the UI, then changing the Mac display resolution is the best bet, and there are some menu bar extensions that can help with switching on the fly and saving presets.

What version of macOS are you using?

If you go to Apple>System Settings (Preferences)>Displays is the Resolution set for Default for Displays?
