Question

Main menu becomes inaccessible when using Camera Raw Filter

Has anyone experienced this problem? I've been using Photoshop for years. It's up to date and I have a very recent, high-performance Mac Studio (192 GB memory, 8 TB storage, Sonoma 14.1.2).
For the past two days, as soon as I use Camera Raw Filter from the Filters Menu, all the menu options become grey and inaccessible. I have to force quit the application. It's impossible to work like this.

Any ideas?  Thanks !

Update for Sonoma (14.2.1 (23C71)).   I hold my breath. I've just run a few tests and the problem seems to have disappeared 🤞

Still have the problem.   Open the files from Lr to Photoshop or directly to Photoshop.  I really don't know what to do...

I began to encounter the same problem when I went directly to Camera Raw. I then tried this solution without success.

I then looked at the GPU and tried this:

Without success...
I then rebooted my computer and miraculously, it worked. Before writing my first message here, I had often rebooted my computer.
I hope the problem has been solved for good, because I use Photoshop every day!
Thanks for all your help.

OK, I don't have an answer at this point - but now we know the ACR module itself is functional. If it wasn't it would most likely be a GPU issue, which we can now rule out.

Okay, I think I've got it. If I double-click directly on the photo file from Finder, it opens directly in Camera Raw. I make a few adjustments and click Done. The photo then opens in Photoshop and yes, the menus are available. I can use this solution as a temporary troubleshooter, but this bug needs to be fixed. I work on several photos at a time and often come back to the Camera Raw Filter menu during the processing. Thanks a lot!  and Merry Christmas 🙂

I am sorry D.  I don't know how to do it.  I always used Camera raw through Photoshop.

Can you open raw files directly into the ACR processor?
