OK, I just had a client email me about an image that had a weird glitch (actually hard coded when exported out of Lightroom) .... this has happened a few times, and sometimes it only shows up in the Develop module but not Library. Irregardless of Lightroom's behaviour, this is Photoshop glitch through and through.
Just using quick preview in finder, what looks like a totally normal TIFF image when opened in Photoshop, has a random rectangle of dropped saturation applied willy-nilly across part of the image, having nothing to do with any of the layer masks in Photoshop.
Below is a screen shot of the Quick Preview on the left, and the file open in Photoshop, the desaturated section is clearly ruining the image.
There is a Hue/Saturation layer applied to the top of the image with a clear layer mask applying it only to the wall (there was blue tape on the side of the painting bouncing light onto the wall), yet when the image is viewed or exported from outside of Photoshop, it is applied to a randomly drawn hard edge rectangle over the painting!
Opening up the file, changing the name of the top layer and saving it again seems to fix it, but that should definitely notbe normal behavior!
This is totally ruining my workflow, working on an image in Photoshop, having it look fine, then having it export with a major glitch is not something I would expect from the premier photo editor in the industry!
Photoshop CC 21.1.0 on Catalina.
