Question

Mask Layer not allowing me to paint suddenly

Hello,

I am very familiar with Faceswapping using the masking feature. I select M to cut around the object of the other image, v to move, drag and drop, reposition, and then I create a mask layer, invert, and paint using x to flip between the background image and the layered image. However, it's suddenly stopped working as of last night. Can someone please help me with this?

"using x to flip between the background image and the layered image"

X will swap Background and Foreground color not images as described. Just saying.

Thanks for the correction, but you know what I meant. It's the same thing

The first thing to check is the options bar for the Brush tool, especially the Blending mode. Set it to Normal if it is something else. If that's not it, share a screen shot of your Layers panel and the options bar for the Brush tool.

Hi @Jennab505

If you look at your swatches panel, both the foreground and background swatches are black and you are trying to paint on a black mask. Type "D" to restore your swatches to the defaults of pure black and pure white, then continue using "X" to switch between the two colors as you have been when you paint on the mask.
