Masked image looks pixelated for no reasons.

Hi, i'm using CC 2019 and two days ago I started to have a weird display bug. When I create a mask inside a smart object (even when it's not) of a stock image (300 ppp 5860px x 3840px) it looks pixelated after I save it.

The first picture is inside the smart object where I did the mask. The second is in the project file and it looks terrible. The third is when I save it as .jpeg, it looks terrible too.

Can someone can relate to this and help me?

Thanks in advance,

Martin Ouimet.

Is the SO transformed?

What is the Photoshop > Preferences > General > Image Interpolation setting?

Couls you post a screenshot taken at View > 100% of the opened Smart Object?

SO means smart objects? If so yes, I downsized it and I think it might be the image interpolation setting the problem. I once changed it to make pixel arts and then upgraded to CC 2020 but this week I decided to switch back to 2019 and maybe with all the old preferences in it.

I'll take a look into it, thanks!

By the way, the first image is already a screen taken at 100% of the opened smart object.

EDIT : It was the problem, switched back to the default settings and now it looks amazing 😉 Thanks a lot

Should you change the interpolation setting you may need to invoke the transformation on the SO (cmd-T and OK) again to have it resampled.
