MATLAB Support in Photoshop CC

Hello,

Using this page:

I was able to download Photoshop MATLAB Toolbox.

I used to work with it in Photoshop CS6 Extended.

Yet now, After upgrading to Photoshop CC it doesn't work anymore.

Is there a way to enable it in Photoshop CC?

Adobe, could you please update it to support Photoshop CC?

You need to match the psmatlab.dll with the version you are working with. Try the attached dll for Photoshop CC. Let me know your results.

Could you create a package for CC which includes this updated DLL?

For others, this DLL should be placed in the Photoshop Toolbox library under Required folder.

Yes. I'll update the instructions and add the correct dll.

You can fix test4 by editing test4.m. Change Line 8 to this: or the location you put the demo folder at.

I've tried it on CC 2014 (downloaded and installed on April 28, 2015 on a Windows 64 bit machine) and it doesn't work. I followed the instructions including installing the software development kit. I included Tom's attachment (Win_MATLAB_Plug-In_CC.zip) and it still fails. I got the same errors before I replaced the plugins with Tom's attachment. When I do testall I get failures on 10 of the tests starting with test 3 on line 88 (psnewdoc(...)). In fact, on all the tests that it fails on it says it fails on line 88. Furthermore, I cannot even launch Photoshop from matlab using pslaunch. I type pslaunch in the command line and it completes the command but does not open photoshop. I need to get this working by the end of this week so any advice as soon as possible would be great. I have tried this before on CS5.5 and it's worked..

I'm now on Ps CC 2018, and the Matlab-Ps plugins aren't working with matlab 2017a/2017b.  Are there updates available or do I have to roll back my matlab and/or Ps installs? Thanks!

Thanks for asking!

The app is a computer music program wherein the user can paint sounds directly. The images in Ps are brought into matlab, and through a series of proprietary algorithms, played as audio. No complicated filters, fft's, etc. just purely taking pixels into audio. 

I submitted a patent on it last month, but I may release it as freeware to the art and music community.  How about you, what's your application?

I'd be happy to see how it works.

I just experiment with some image processing algorithms.
Make them work on my images as they were Photoshop Plug In's.

I hope Tom will update the MATLAB toolbox to support CC 2018.

Hello Eric,

Is there a compiler runtime available for Ps or other Adobe apps? As you know, Matlab has the MatlabCompilerRunitme that lets you create standalone executables for people without matlab. I'm developing an app that uses the matlab plugin for Ps.  Does Adobe have anything similar to the MCR? Thanks.

Adobe does not offer a Photoshop that you can redistribute. Check the EULA.
