Question

MBP Max M1 vs M4 Pro Mac mini for LrC and Photoshop

I am considering replacing my MacBook Pro from 2021 with an M4 Pro Mac mini. I have an M4 Max chip on the MBP which says it gets up to 546Gb/s memory bandwidth. The Mac mini gets 273 GB/s memory bandwidth. Is that likely to make a difference in practice?

I would also be downgrading from 24 to 20 GPU cores. I would be upgrading though from 10 CPU cores to 14.

Why am I considering this? Because the MBP weighs too much and so considering a travel replacement at the same time. Also the number of ports and speed of those ports on the mini will help me get rid of the rat's nest on my desk.

Thanks for any thoughts

Take a look at benchmarks which are pretty easy to find online, places like Macworld and Tom's Hardware are always good sources.
