Metallica logo on Ride the Lightning please help!

I'm having trouble creating my own version of Metallica's logo on Ride the Lightning. I am putting different text in place of Metallica on the album cover(still not sure how i'm going to do that either), but i've been able to create the 3D object i just have no idea how to create the glow or gloss on the text.

This isn't exactly the same style, but may give you a method to play with.

I added Layer Style/Outer Glow in 3 stages, changing the standard color (yellow) and enlarging Size and Spread, Merging Visible after each step.

Really nobody knows how to create glow in Photoshop?

Click on fx options and adjust Stroke as shown below using a Shape Burst style. Feel free to experiment with different values because your image might be a different size than mine which will effect outcomes.
