Missing File Info Template since 25.10 Upgrade

New Here ,
Nov 11, 2024 Nov 11, 2024

The File Info Template since after the 25.7 version when it was redisigned ,the Template feature is gone. You cannot export and important templates with your pre-filled metadata, i.e. your copyright data, like your name and address, website information. Each image metadata has to be individual added, this is less than ideal, putting it mildly. Thus, I haven't upgraded to the new versions, and I probably will not until this important feature is fixed.  Here is an example. Please fixed on the next updated. I have brought this to your attention for the scecond time. Thank you. Screenshot 2024-11-11 133214.png

Hi @Bruce1958

Thank you for reaching out! I’m moving your post back to Discussions for now while we gather more information to reproduce this. Could you share more details about the issue, specifically any steps we can follow to reproduce it?

Dear CMass, I went back to Photoshop version 25.7 and uninstalled 26.0 and 25.12 because the template folder in the metadata Info File is missing or is no longer an option. The options you sent me from your help support information are no longer valid. This change in the preferences suggests https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/create-documents.html. It no longer works for the new Photoshop versions. See below. The new Photoshop versions, i.e., 26.0 and 25.12, only have a check box for returning to the legacy Document File, not the legacy Info File. Photographers who post-process thousands of images need the template folder to embed their personal information, i.e., address, web address, contact info, and copyright information, within each image file. Without the Template Folder, this information must be typed in for every image. This is less than satisfactory and makes little sense for photographers wishing to embed their photography information within the saved image files. Please, in preferences, allow us access to the Template folder I show you above.

Use the legacy File New experience.

Although not recommended, you can disable the latest New Document experience and revert to the File New experience that Photoshop provided by default (in versions 2015.5 and earlier).

  1. Select Edit > Preferences > General.

  2. Select Use Legacy File New Interface. Click OK.

Enable the legacy File New experience (not recommended)
