Missing hidden tools in Photoshop

New Here ,
Jan 14, 2025 Jan 14, 2025

I have no idea what happened, what button I accidentally clicked, but one day while making a collage in Photoshop the tools menue vanished. I got it back, but the hidden tools like magic wand, polygonal lasso, paint bucket, and even the gradient tool have all permanently vanished. The eraser tool is also only three dots. I didn't know where it was at first.

Nothing I do brings them back to the menu. I have tried restoring the workplace a few times, to no avail. Have these tools been moved to another Adobe app? I am not very tech savvy but took a screenshot of the menu and all the stuff missing. I appreciate your feedback on this issue. Thank you!

Try resetting the tools and/or preferences.
To restore preferences quickly using a keyboard shortcut:

Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.
Note: Using the keyboard shortcut, preference files for custom shortcuts, workspaces, and color settings will also be reset to default.

Before resetting Preferences, try resetting the Toolbar. Go to Edit menu > Toolbar and click Restore Defaults.

If this doesn't work, follow the steps from Bob.
