Missing "Import Video" option in Photoshop, and cannot export a video either (PS22)

Hi there,

Have had no issues with this before, but all of a sudden the option to import videos into Photoshop is missing! Cannot drag into the app either, and previous photoshop files I have with videos in them open as a "frame timeline" with no video options. I also am unable to export videos from Photoshop also.

I have tried re-starting computer multiple times, uninstalling/installing applications, updating photoshop, and going back to the 2021 version of PS.

Using a Macbook Air 2021, M1 Chip, Mac OS Monterrey V12.0.1, and the latest version of Photoshop 2022.

Is this the first time you’ve tried to work with video in Photoshop since the Apple Silicon version of Photoshop was released? If so, the problem is probably because video format support is one of the things that is not yet supported by the Apple Silicon version of Photoshop.

For now, the workaround is to restart Photoshop into the Apple Rosetta translator. That will run the Intel version of Photoshop on your M1 Mac, which might be slower, but video support will be available.

EDIT: Video support is once again available in Photoshop on Apple Silicon, after Adobe released Photoshop 23.4 in June 2022.

Yes, I've had this problem too and the only solution for me was to open the Intel version of Photoshop through the Adobe CC app. Check out the screenshot!
