mouse suggestions?

Small hand, slightly shaky, right handed...

Over the years I've never found any trackball mouse I liked as well as Microsoft's, and they long ago discontinued it.

I've been using an elecom trackball which is not exactly programmable on my mac studio, but it's the best I've found (for me) so far.

I'd really love to have a trackball that is programmable for mac and designed for a smaller hand, TRACKBALL ON TOP (index finger), NOT SIDE. ARTHRITIC THUMB.

But there is another problem I'd love to solve.

I work a lot resizing and messing with photos using Transform.

When I try to position my mouse at the corner vertex to expand or make the photo smaller, I spend actual MINUTES sometimes, just trying to get the curser to give me the sidewise expand or contract icon. (the two little arrows pointing away from each other). It prefers to DRAG. Not what I want.

I do have some tremor in my hand, so that's part of the problem.

Would a trackpad work better for that purpose?

What would anyone suggest????

Instead of trying to select the different operators when using Free Transform, just hold down the Cmd key and drag a handle.

You can add  Shift and Opt when dragging a corner handle to expand or contract symmetrically.  Opt and a middle handle will elongate symmetrically.

If you need to Warp, instead of right clicking and trying to select warp, just use the much bigger icon in the Options bar.

Sorry, I can't help regards trackballs, as I have always hated them.  I am a fan of using the best mouse you can afford with Photoshop though, as high resolution and smooth operation make all the difference, and would help if you have a small tremor.  I actually have the same problem sometimes, and have to wait for it to settle before I can do anything with Photoshop.

I have a 3DConnexion Space Mouse that I use with Sketchup, and absolutely love.  It is incredibly smoove, and way better that using a normal mouse with its scroll wheel to move objects in 3D.

So I am wondering if their larger Space Mouse Pro might work like a track ball?  I imagine it's quit expensive.

I found this Reddit thread that might help.

Please let us know what you decide and how you get on, because it's something a lot of people would be interested in.  I have had a bunch of Gaming, and high end office type mice over the years, which I like for their smooth opperation and additional programable buttons.  I am currently using a Logitech MX Master 3.   A poster to this forum pointed out that we can set it to adjust the brush size in Photoshop (sideways scroll wheel for large changes, and the page forward and back buttons to change by one pixel).  I have been using that ever since and love it.

Note: I am using Options, and not the recommended Options+.  This is because it works fine in Options, but does not witht Options+
