Question

Moving Any Layer Around Causes Glitches In Image

Hi,

Has anyone encountered this issue and knows how to resolve? I cannot find anything in the forum on the same issue. I have the most work I've ever had on at the moment and this issue is causing me a lot of stress.

When I attempt to move any layer, the layer becomes a black square or rectangle and causes disturbance across the image. It then can go away if you move it again slightly or undo/redo.

It's difficult to describe. Please refer to the screenshot.

Thanks,

Rya

Hi Rya,

I understand that encountering problems with the software can be discouraging. I’m committed to assisting you and getting things back on track. Sometimes, graphics processing unit (GPU) acceleration can cause display issues in Photoshop.
As @Kevin Stohlmeyer mentioned, try turning off GPU acceleration in Photoshop by going to Preferences > Performance and unchecking the “Use Graphics Processor” option. Restart Photoshop and see if the glitches persist. If there’s no change, You may try resetting Photoshop preferences back to defaults and check if that helps.
Here’s the article for the steps: https://adobe.ly/3ceal5t
Also, back up the existing Photoshop preferences if you have any custom brushes, action, and workspace: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FGLet us know how it goes.

Best,

Ranjisha

Hi @ryanm2010 Go to Photoshop Preferences/Technology Preview and check “Disable Native Canvas”.
